Metin Cengiz o "il potere della poesia"

Metin Cengiz

14° Nisan Festival (Israel-Maghar).
Alcune sue poesie
sono sul sito di Casa della Poesia.

D’inverno

Ho saputo di te in inverno
in te fiorivano domande
dı ognuno amante, ma non di me.

Strade e tracce sulla tua faccia
ıl tuo cuore nutrito da cupi amori come sole a mezzogiorno.

Tutti distanti adesso, tu sei il mio cuore solitario
Siamo noi adesso inverno in fiore’ fatti dolore nella nostra cenere.

KIŞ GÜNÜ

Seni bir kış günü tanıdım soru işaretleri açıyordun
Herkesin aşkıydın ben hariç

Yüzünde caddeler ayak izleri vardı
Yüreğin hüzünlü aşklarla beslenmişti öğlen güneşi gibi
Görmüş geçirmiş ben hariç

Şimdi herkes uzakta benim ocağımsın yalnız
Şimdi kış açan biziz kendi külünde hüzün biziz

Guerra

Ogni dove il tanfo della Guerra
solo il nome, eppure in faccia ci sbatte
come da lontano fragranza di pane caldo.
Come se qualcuno dentro noi combattesse

Mio figli dice che, certo, pazzo deve esser Dio
come puo essere a se stesso nemıco
finance lui che insegue la sua mente.

Penso alla mente per un momento
e come sedermı
e bere per ubriacarmi ancora.
Forse trovero l’anello che ho perduto
regalo dı mıa moglıe ın una notte radıosa
perso vıa tra I sassi.

Addio all’amore d’infanzia.
Addio al bambino che sono.

Ciao Dio mio.

SAVAŞ

Her yerde savaşın kokusunu alıyoruz
yalnız adı da olsa burnumuza vuruyor
taze ekmek kokusu gibi uzaktan.
Sanki birileri içimizde vuruşuyor
hayat ölümü deniyor silahıyla
kelimelerin kanını akıtarak.
Ekranlar öyle yakın ki gökyüzüne
tanrıyı görmemek imkansız
geçerken cepheden cepheye.

Oğlum, “Tanrı çıldırmış olmalı” diyor
“bu denli düşman olamaz kendine
aklının peşinde koşan insan bile.”
Aklın ne olduğunu düşünüyorum bir an.
Oturmak geliyor bir sandalyeye içimden
ve içmek sarhoş oluncaya yeniden.
Belki rastlarım diye kaybettiğim yüzüğüme
karımın armağanı ışıltılı bir gecede
kaybetmiş olduğum çakıllar arasında.

Elveda çocukluk aşkım.
Elveda çocukluğum.

Merhaba tanrı

Mio figlio

Anasini topraga
Ben uzakta hapiste yatmışım
Anası yürümeyi öğretmiş ona

La pietra

Sono come il mare in tempesta
La vita urla nel mio muschio
İl tempo riposa in me

Senza neanche saperlo

Oggi sono di buon umore
Divento edificio, divento casa
E non sono mai stata così contenta

Non mi disturbate oggi
Non venite, non guardatemi
Oggi sono una pietra felice

Sono diventata luce
İn Palestina, in Turchia, dappertutto
Lanciata sulla testa dei dittatori
Da uno dei miei piccoli amici.

TAŞ

Dalgalı bir deniz gibiyim
Hayat yosunumda uğuldar
Dinlenir zaman içimde

Hatıralar bırakmaz yakamı
Sek sek oynarım su yüzünde
Şöyle yandan kaydırınca

Canı sıkıldı mı insanın
Uzaklara fırlatır beni
Garip bir zevk alır bundan

Evler, bahçeler benimle havalanır
Benimle güneşlenir odalar

Başlarında bir bela oldu mu
Benimle konuşur rüyasında insanlar
Ama bilmezler bunu

Bugün keyfim yerinde
Ev oldum, bina oldum
Bunca mutlu olmadım

Dokunmayın keyfime bugün
Gelip seyrime durmayın benim
Bugün mutlu bir taşım

Işığa karıştı beni
Filistin’de Türkiye’de her yerde

Pensate a me come un immenso mare

dove i bambini
si aggrappano a stretti legami.

Mi appari difronte
come fatto naturale.

traduzione dall’inglese di Beppe Costa

1. STILHEDENS AFSTAND

Jeg har ikke ord for gaderne,
der med mellemrum
giver lyd fra sig.

Denne tid
toner frem

holder fast
i deres nære bånd.

Du stiller dig ind foran mig
med den største selvfølgelighed.

THE DISTANCE OF SILENCE

I have no words for the streets
which from time to time
give a sound.

This period of time
emerges
as it were the most lonely of times.

This silence I have experienced before
and this is my everyday life now.

I have never greeted anyone,
when someone else runs through me.
I may listen, but in reality
I am not the one you speak to.

The city has lost its pulse,
and I wear it gently.
The leaning doorway in my hands.
A box full of life
where the children
hold on to close ties.

You place yourself in front of me
as a matter of course.

DISTANCA E HESHTJES

Tutto
sarà portato
ma non tutto sarà preso.

Al margine di un campo
i lupi sono ombre
sul traffico
sotto gli alberi.

HJØRNETÆPPETS FIGURER

De store lærreder bæres forsigtigt
ind i kunstbygningen, og længst inde
i lastbilen fodres en hund bag en skulptur.

Hjørnet er dækket til af et tæppe
med figurer. Alt bliver fragtet,
men ikke alt hentes.

Yderst på en mark
er ulvene skygger
over trafikken under træerne.

BLANKET WITH FIGURES IN THE CORNER

The large canvases are carried carefully
into the art building, right at the back
of the truck, a dog is fed behind a sculpture.

A blanket with figures covers the corner
Everything will be brought,
but not everything will be collected.

At the edge of a field
wolves are shadows
above the traffic under the trees.

me figura mbulon cepin. Gjithçka
do të sillet
por jo të gjitha do të merren.

Në anë të një fushe
ujqërit janë hije
në trafikun
poshtë pemëve.

3. ROTTE DI PORCELLANA

Secco come un pesce sulla terra
uno spago lungo il tempo
e nelle immagini appese le crepe,
premurosi i nostri atti
quando i cani erano ovunque
e non potevano più abbaiare.

La scia della nave
un’indicazione
per pubbliche
lettere.

når hundene var over alt,
og ikke længere kunne gø.

Skibets kølvand
en betegnelse
for offentlige
breve.

PORCELAIN ROUTES

A string through time dry like a fish on land,
and the cracks in the suspended images
is what we did carefully,
when dogs were everywhere                                                                                                                         and they couldn't bark anymore.

The ship's wake
is an indication
for public
letters.

RRUGËT E PORCELANIT

Thatë si një peshk mbi tokë
një spango përgjatë kohës
dhe në imazhe çarje të varura,
kujdeseshim për ato që bënim
kur qentë ishin kudo
dhe nuk mund të lehnin më.
Gjurma e bardhë e anijes
një tregues
për letrat
publike.

4. MUTEVOLI COLORI IN CORRIDOIO

Si è aperto nella sua immaginazione
a un corridoio con lampade accese,
dove i suoi passi secondo rituali                                                                                                                  rischiarano una fronte seducente.

Potevano vedere in altro spazio del paese
trasferirsi l’anima
in locali variabili.

GANGENS VEKSLENDE FARVER

Han er åbnet op i egen forestilling
om en gang med tændte lamper,
hvor hans skridt gennem ritualer
lyser op i en lokkende pande.

De kunne se sjælen transporteret
ind i et andet byrums
skiftende lokaler.

CHANGING COLORS IN THE HALLWAY

He is opened up in his own notion
of a corridor with lit lamps,
where his steps through rituals
light up a seductive forehead.

They could see the soul transported
into the changing rooms
of another urban space.

NGJYRA TË NDRYSHUESHME NË KORRIDOR

U hap në imagjinatën e tij
në një korridor me llamba të ndezura,
ku hapat e tij sipas ritualesh

5. RUMORE PROFONDO

Cofani
lungo una corda
attraverso
il paesaggio,
le cui nascoste
si affrettano
attraverso la frase
con transitanti
nuvole nelle visiere
poco sopra la terra.

DYB STØJ

Motorhjelme
på en snor
gennem
landskabet,
hvis skjulte
skikkelser
farer gennem
sætningen
med drivende
skyer i visirerne
et stykke over jorden.

DEEP NOISE

Helmets
on a string
through
the landscape,
whose hidden
figures
rush through
the
sentence
with drifting
clouds in the visors
just above the earth.

ZHURMË E THELLË

Baule
përgjatë një litari
nëpërmjet
peisazhit,
ku të fshehura
nxitojnë
përmes fjalisë
me kalim tranzit

Anche se il secolo cambia, la confusione persiste;

ON ONE KIND OF TRUTH

On this small watery planet, how many people
Are searching for the Truth, are continuing to search,
And is there anyone among them who can say
Any Truth you find will not be the only Truth”?

All people, each individually, alone, and by themselves-
Why does the “Truth” of more than 6.6billion people
continue to be ignored by Heaven,
While time slips idly by, simply passing away?

Transcending the color of skin or ethnicity, making borders disappear,
Sacrificing national profit,
Even though progress is slow, walking hand in hand,
Moving slowly forward- Who is preventing this?

Though the century changes, the confusion persists;
The gods we trust in our hearts-though we continue to praise them loudly,
Hunger and strife do not disappear,
And nowhere can the light of hope be seen. Why not?

In this world, though there are more representatives for gods
than the number of ethnicities,
If we cannot go beyond all conflict,
If we cannot save lives from hunger,
When “Light” of Truth can possibly shine?

Shall I ask it? When is the time of hope?
Standing before those who are starving and dying daily,
can anyone save them with weapons or words?
It is but a single person who asks, the power of the spirit of only one:

Where are they, those who can save us now?

      Translated by Stephen Comee

E’ tuo? E’ mio? Di chi è?
Non appartiene a nessuno ma galleggia
assieme alla corrente, fuggendo…

Cosa pensavo se era tuo o mio
ci sono molti oggetti famigliari, case, macchine,
sospinti in ampi cumuli di rifiuto e ramaglia.

“Io li possedevo”.
“Credevo fossero miei”.

Nessuno ci poteva credere inizialmente.

Voci ammonivano

proprio ora come vogliono,
continuano a distruggere la Natura.

Su questo pianeta d’acqua,
per quanto tempo ancora possiamo continuare
a vivere al sicuro?

Nessuno lo sa.

REFUGEE ISLAND

Within the muddy current pressing forth
What is carried off by the fl
Is it yours? Is it mine? Whose is it ?
It belongs to no one, but loats
Together with the flow, escaping . . .

What I thought was yours or mine
Are many household goods, houses, cars
Large drifting lumps of refuse and trash.

 “I owned them.”
“I believed that they were mine!”
But those things and even the land
In the twinkling of an eye, returned to Mother Earth.

All the connections of day-to-day life, in an instant
Were transformed into an illusion.
Nobody could believe it at first.

The voices of those who warned that this island’s
Coastline would be erased were themselves erased,
But now what was really erased are those who
Heard not and only believed what they could see.

If it was just a matter of escaping, time would solve
Things, maybe bringing everything back as before.

But even now we cannot stop the constant spread of
Radioactive substances from Fukushima’s reactors
that only continue to accumulate

Decontamination is nothing more than a placebo.
And the contaminated water that they spilled forth,
Where will it flow?

“We cannot return to our contaminated villages.
It’s awful! We can’t eke out a living!”
Nobody says such a thing. Nobody can.

These small islands in the Far East that have
Refused to accept refugees from around the world
Have transformed into islands of refugees,
Though until now   no one has recognized that.

If the patter for the world is these small islands,
Then this world is already dying from a grave wound.

Maintaining its power since Creation,
This planet’s magma
Sometimes   explodes and blows its top,
Instantly engulfing
Many
Over and over
A wordless warning that it continues to express.

Those that live upon the surface of this planet
Now just as they please
Continue to destroy Nature.

On this planet of water,
For how much longer can we continue
To live safely?

No one knows.

Translated by Stephen Comee

senza parole come sempre,

Incoraggiato dai poeti camerunensi

TO AMMA, GUARDIAN GOD OF THE DOGON PEOPLE

I wonder if it can break through this clear blue sky—
Whatever was shining in the ancient firmament?
What was it that could be seen?

The sunken eyes of the elders here,
Wordless as ever,
From the top of a cliff, see something that seems to have survived. . . .

Encouraged by Cameroon poets
When I was invited into the center of this open space,
A transparent invitation arrived from the Sirian star system.

Turning around, way off in the distance,
Houses and wriggling people can be seen on the earth, like grains of rice,
Before the eyes, the elders sit in the center of a few dozen tribesmen who surround them.

This is Africa, the Republic of Mali,
The Sangha region, Bandiagara, atop the escarpment,
Where the Dogon people live.

Borrowing wooden staves from poets who had come from Rome,
With bended knees, three times they strike the stone slab,
From a low position, like crawling on the earth,
Their voices begin to resound: “A-a-a- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - a-h!

The ancient world of the Dogon I learned about
In Marcel Griaule’s Pale Fox—
These are the people I have dreamed of seeing—the Dogon!

Even now, somewhere upon this earth,
Can anything still be passed down
About the distant star system of Sirius?

The voice of an Asian poet—who?—his voice continues to resound,
Without a single clearing of his throat, he turns toward the elders—
As he turns this time to face their guardian god, Amma,
A gust of cool wind caresses his cheeks.
Where is this? He turns around and soon intones:

“Kitchee Manitou!”
“Kitchee Manitou!”
“Kitchee Manitou!” three times offering his voice.*

Three years later, a Moroni poet who saw him off at Senegal’s Dakar airport,
With a gentle smile, told him: “At that time, the Dogon elders
Perfectly comprehended what you said.”

It was a world in which one could converse in Divine words,
When languages from distant lands could be understood with ease, like
before the time of the Tower of Babel.

*Kitchee Manitou, also spelled Kitchi-Manitou, is the Creator God of the Algonquian nations of North America. The Anishinaabe (Ojibwa or Chippewa) people, Longfellow’s source, spell it Gichi-Manidoo, and the term means “Great Spirit.”

1. INFINITO

Bacio e carezzo l'infinito
lavoro d'ago a cucire galassie
che sfumano in seta di luna
immenso arazzo
con fili di stupore

INFINITE

I kiss and caress the infinite
I work with a needle to sow galaxies
that glide into the silk of the moon
immense tapestry
with threads of amazement

PAFUNDËSI

Puth dhe përkëdhel pafundësinë
punë gjylpëre në qepje galaksish
që përhumben në mëndafsh hëne
sixhade e pafund
me fije habish.

2. IL ROGO NECESSARIO

Essere ardenti
bruciare al fuoco dell'altare
offrire l'ego in sacrificio
Chi divampa con acuto crepitio
e chi sfuma in docile sordina
L'importante è andare in fiamme
per poi poter volare
S'avvicina così l'animale al Divino

THE NECESSARY STAKE

Beig ardent
burning in the fire of the altar
offering the ego as a sacrifice
Some burn up with acute sizzle
some fade away in docile damper
The important thing is to go in flame
to later be able to fly
In this way the animal gets closer to the Divine

ZJARRI I NEVOJSHËM

Të jesh i zjarrtë
të digjesh në zjarrin e altarit
të ofrosh egon si sakrificë
Kush përflaket me një kërcitje të mprehtë
dhe kush shuhet në bindjen e shurdhër
E rëndësishme është të marrësh flakë
në mënyrë që mund të fluturosh
Kështu i afrohet kafsha Hyjnores.

3. PROFONDITÀ E LUCE

La profondità del pensiero è parola
La profondità della parola è luce
Nella luce c'è un altro mondo

DEPTH AND LIGHT

The depth of the thought is the word
The depth of the word is light
In the light there's another world

Poesie tratte da Encumbra tu corazón, traduzione Beppe Costa

DESCABALGADO YA

Descabalgado ya
del corcel vertiginoso,
despacio
siento la vida,
adrede yerro la caza
y,
exhausto,
huyo de huracanes
y contiendas.

Me advierto presa,
inocente ser
reconstruyendo asombros,
como quien da un
vuelco
a sus afanes.

GIÀ DISARCIONATO

Già disarcionato
dal destriero frenetico,
lentamente
sento scorrere la vita,
mi manca per scelta la caccia
e,
esausto,
fuggo dagli uragani
e dai conflitti.

Sento d’esser preda,
innocente essenza
ricostruendo stupori,
come chi
ribalta
i propri affanni.

DISMOUNTED NOW

Dismounted now
from the vertiginous charger,
slowly
I feel life,
knowingly I miss the hunt
and,
exhausted,
I flee from hurricanes
y conflicts.

I feel like prey,
an innocent being
reconstructing wonderings,
like someone who
overturns
his desires.

ENCUMBRA TU CORAZÓN

Encumbra tu corazón
y deja que sienta
crucifixiones.
También el sentir
es una espada rebelde,
si hace falta.
Encúmbralo lejos
del arrabal de la fama
y del escuadrón
de los malvados.

Más expuesto estará
el día de la pena
o si tiembla de deseos.
Encumbra tu corazón
para que el mundo
no te cuelgue
sus velocísimos ruidos.

INNALZA IL TUO CUORE

Innalza il tuo cuore
nel vedere
le crocifissioni...
Anche la sensibilità
diviene spada ribelle,
quando necessaria.
Promuovilo lontano
dai bassifondi della notorietà
e dallo squadrone
dei malvagi.

Sarà più esposto
nel giorno del dolore
o se trema di desideri.
Innalza il tuo cuore
in modo che il mondo
non ti attacchi
i suoi rapidissimi rumori.

EXALT YOUR HEART

Exalt your heart
and allow it to feel
crucifixions.

Feeling is also
a rebellious sword,
if necessary.

Exalt it far
from the dens of fame
and the squadron
of evildoers.

The day of pain
will be more exposed
if it trembles with desires.

Exalt your heart
so that the world
will not drag you down
with its fastest rumours.

LLUVIAS

Grabé mi nombre
en el barro que dejaban
las lluvias que arrullaron
mi niñez,
lluvias inagotables de la selva
mojándome hasta hoy,
para que así no olvide
su lenguaje
o concierto
sobre el techo de paja
y hojalata de mi antigua casa.

Lluvias que verdearon
hasta la piel de mis ojos, aunque
eso no importa.
Lluvias prolongándose
hasta la misma hora del día
siguiente,
para que así los ríos
no parezcan dormidos.
Lluvias que he gozado
en la balanza
de mi mundo primero, allí
donde el aire está caliente
por ambos lados.

PIOGGE

Ho inciso il mio nome
nel fango lasciato
dalle piogge che hanno cullato
la mia infanzia,
piogge inesauribili della giungla
che mi hanno bagnato fino a oggi,
perché non dimentichi
la loro lingua
o il concerto
sopra il tetto di paglia
e latta della mia vecchia casa.

Piogge divenute verdi
fino al fondo dei miei occhi, malgrado
ciò non importi.
Piogge durature
fino alla stessa ora del giorno
seguente,
in modo che così i fiumi
non sembrino addormentati.
Piogge che ho apprezzato
sulla scala dei valori
del mio mondo precedente, lì
dove l’aria è calda
su entrambi i lati.

RAINS

I engraved my name
in the clay that the rains
left behind cradling
my childhood,
the inexhaustible rains of the woods
that have quenched me to this day,
so that in this way I will not forget
their language
or concert
on the roof of straw
and tin of my former home.

Rains that greened
even the surface of my eyes, though
that is not important.
Rains that stretched
until the same time of the
following day,
so that the rivers
would not appear asleep.
Rains that I enjoyed
in the balance
of my first world,
where the air is warm
on both sides.
